Hi All...

First, let me say this....I *am* enjoying the game. It has its annoyances, but the key elements that make you keep comin' back for more are mostly all there. It *is* definitely exciting and has that heart-pounding apprehension that makes up good RPGing.

That said....

The first thing I'd like to see changed is to have a RESTING/WAIT TILL DAWN etc. because I *hate* stumbling around in the dark! You can't see anything. It's boring if you don't meet any monsters, or you have no dungeon to kill time in. Right now, I'm in the Wilderness around Ishad N'ha. I discovered a long while back that you *don't* want to go tripsin' around Shurugeon Castle area in the dark. But you see the problem? There's nothing to *do*. If there was a rest option, you wouldn't have a problem. Sure, you *could* wander around in the dark, if you so desired - but not if you had the other option.

Second, the credibility of the storyline is severely compromised when the NPCs continue to respond to you as if you haven't completed the quest. Shinwiki, in the Toad Village, for example. He responds to questions as if you never completed the Toadem quest. Same with Mekdawa - every time you come near him, he says "Ukabu, come here. Why you not go to Toad Village?" etc. Other RPGs deal with this fairly well, and their NPCs respond differently when you've completed the quests.

Similarly, if you have more than one Wizard, Priest or Warrior etc. and you only join a Temple or Warrior's Guild with one character, (due to lack of funds etc.) when you later join with the other character, you get the same quest given to you and duplicate items to do it again!

The game isn't too linear. You meet monsters that are way too powerful for your characters when you meet them. (read: Amazoni Mantraps) Other games (such as Might & Magic) give you the option of going elsewhere, if the foes in the area you go to are too tough. I found that there was lots to do in those games, with easier or 'challenging-but-achievable' dungeons and outside areas.

When you go to a town, it's always shown in perpetual daylight - even if you enter at night - and the shops never close. (I may be niggling a bit here) Not too realistic. And why don't the merchants in the shops etc. have speech? Every other character you meet in the game does.

And six people on *one* horse? ohhhhhkaaaaay.....

(pssst! and *one* Highland Rogue coming up to you and saying "Drop your weapons...you're outnumbered!") (grin)

Not entirely in love with the role ascenscion/training thing. And the cost for everything in the game versus what gold you actually *get* is way too high. In Might & Magic 8, I think I had $1,500,000 gold pieces at one point.

ok, getting pretty silly here

I experienced quite a few lock-ups in the game, but nothing that a reboot wouldn't cure.

I'm only at Shurugeon Castle - there may be a few more Bouquets and Brickbats before the end...
