Of late, my appearance at Senate meetings has not been exemplary, and to those fellow members, I must apologise. However, that being said, we are all entitled to outside activities, and for this particular politician, my endeavours have centred in passing the prurient (if not exhaustive) testing as directed (and devised) by the sages and wordsmiths of Carilanthus' School.
This is unacceptable however, I understand this, and I have failed to carry out a duty that has been asked of me. Esteemed Chairman Legolas, has asked for verification on my part to corroborate, or denigrate, Mr Underhill's harrowing tale of imprisonment at K.A.K. headquarters. I am sad to say that it is true. Mr Underhill was indeed "quartered" in a metal box within a secret room that led off from our cellar. (It would seem that houses in Baldur's are full of such architectural devices.)
It grieves me to admit that it would appear, based on the above evidence, that it was a member of my own organisation that has helped bring this sorry state into existence. For that, I and other right-minded members of K.A.K. must be held (at least) partly responsible. It would seem that it is not only the Senate that has a provocative element in it's midst. We must all be vigilant.
How then does Dragonshadow figure in this torrid mixture of ideology and disenfranchisement? Who can say, as she is not a member of our organisation. Perhaps she is a catspaw (dragonspaw) of the remnant Iron Thronists? Perhaps she acted alone, or even in conjunction with a despotic barbarian of our acquaintance. I for one would like answers to these questions. As for the allegations surrounding my colleague Myrddin L'argenton, I would like to give my full and unconditional support for such a trusted member of the Senate.
Ahh, such poor and befuddled times have cast a long and tiresome shadow over our noble House. I feel honour bound to continue the work of our Chairman in discovering the truth; to this end I have despatched my own agent - Quirill the Thrice-Charmed - to gather what evidence there is on the terrible occurrences at Area 51, and the despicable mendicants who would perpetrate such heinous crimes. For they are crimes, not just against the K.I. movement, not just against Underhill (a duly elected member of the Senate), not even against the humans and kobolds in the integration process, but a crime against the Senate, the Sword Coast and all of Faerûn.
If we, the members of the House remain constant to the articles of faith as outlined in our Constitution, then we may all prevail over the agents of destruction that seek to drag the Sword Coast into damnable ruin.
I thank you.
Then perhaps we can begin to tackle the issue of homeless Hobbits living in squalor under the city streets.
