Even within a specific alignment there is great divergence, yet these general rules remain:

Reliability: The lawful person will strive to keep his/her word and generally be in control of him/herself.

Belief in society: The lawful person generally have respect for the institutions of society and would only disobey them if there is no other option or he/she has concrete knowledge that they are corrupt. Even then he/she might be unwilling due to the ruckus it would cause.

Duty: Even though a lawful person might be slothful in nature he/she will always at least have a notion that he/she is supposed to have some kind of function in society. A lawful person will only allow him/herself to be "useless" if severely handicapped or placed in a position where it is socially accepted (being too old to have to work for example). Even pampered nobles often have some idea that they are doing an essential duty for society.

This is true for both lawful neutrals, lawful goods and lawful evils.
