I agree with Klorox. If your Sorc is in a party that doesn't have another party member that covers the various wizzy skills, a human sorc helps out for the additional skill points.

OTOH, if you have a wizzy or a bard in your party, then feel free to have a sorc of most any race. Any of the elven races are kinda nice, for the free Bow feat. That said, I usually prefer to give a sorc or wizzy a xbow over a regular bow, since xbows start with additional AB bonuses that can slightly make up for the sorc/wizzy's weaker BAB.
