As you've noticed, time moves backwards here. What happened will not yet happen, and what will happen, has already happened... just not for you. So, the objective of the magma chamber is a fight at the end against the H.S.I., which is a race against the clock for some. Just go around, talk to everybody, several times even... Eventually, you'll get out of it... and be hit with an even bigger question mark
