I have played quite a few high-magic resistance characters, and they really are invulnerable to spells. Sick. A paladin and a monk(drow and svirfneblin) in my current party are the only ones to fight on under Blasphemy, several Horrid Wiltings and a bunch of paralysation spells, all appearing in HoF last fight.
