Alrighty, The GVB is the Global Variable Bug, wich comes with BG and BG:TotSC. It causes NPC's and Items do be respawned, disapear and quest to fail : It tottaly srews you BG.
I think this may have something to do with it. I'm afraid that you'll have to replay the whole game

You can wear the boots of speed AND wield spiders bane (ps. why arent you wielding the worlds edge?) because S.B. protects you, but the ring of free action enchants you with the spell freedom, wich doest allow things like haste or oil of speed. cappiche ?
I heard Cucho on the telivision, in a comedy show, where they where talking about how Spanish people get angry and how they talk, nevermind... (it sucks)
