I used my thiefling fighter/thief. She was not as good physically as my mains tank, but the innate resistance 5/ to fire really helped.

Do you have a priest or a druid? A common tactics is to first cast protection from fire or elements, then summon a fire elemental to take care of the monks.

Failing that you could use a mage and stoneskin him then use some summons.
