Having a hard time during the Ice Palace battle game (and a hard day at work)
I figured out a cheesy trick to beat Oria's pets.

1. Quicksave before activating a square
2. Hope for a BIG enemy (i.e. Frost Giant, Rhino Beetle, ...) if you don't get it reload.
3. Move to the right out of sight of the Ice Golem Champion Referee. He will follow you thus making the doorway passable. While doing this unload some ranged weapon on your foe.
4. Exit the room and select some two-handed range2 melee weapon (i.e. Halberd, Two-Handed Sword). Now hack away at the helpless monster blocked in the doorway. Should be rather simple with a high strength tank.
