Okay, first you teleport in from the painting room.
Next, open the secret door from inside by stepping on the shadow (only one person needs to do that).
Send all but one party member out of the room.
Send one person to the cannon room. Just outside, turn the mirror to face west (sorta). Turn the cannon north and shoot it. The blast will reflect off the mirror outside, down the hall and into the shadow room.
The shadow will disappear. The person in the room can now enter the inner altar room.
