I don't know how far you've advanced, but I'll give general advice
4 fighter-lvls for the paladin will give access to weapon-specialization, so that will enough. Alternatively you can only use 1 lvl of Paladin and lvl up in fighter. And yes - a paladin of helm can gain new lvls after taking fighter-lvls.
halfling: a single lvl of ranger should do it (if you plan to dual-wield)
½-orc: 4 lvls of fighter (as paladin)
Stormlord of Talos - No keep him single-class (goes for all pure spell-casters: wizard/sorcerer/druid/cleric)
Thiefling R/R - a well known combination. Just don't expect the ranger-spells to have any battle-winnning qualities.
Wild Elf - see Stormlord. Since you apparently already have taken fighter lvl(s) , I'd suggest you just take sorcerer lvls for now.
A bit light on magic for my taste, but this party should be able survive
