Many other good and strong spirits camme to inhabit middle-earth. These were perhaps Maiar, like Melian, yet from the hiistories this cannot now be learned. Other spirits, who may have been servants of the Vala Ulmo, also lived within the Old Forest. One of these was the Rive woman or the Withywindle, and another was her daighter Goldberry who was bombadils spouse...
