And here I thought I was the only one. The best thing is having access to as many magic missles as you want (instead of a lower predetermined amount), and then switching up to burning hands for close encounters. There's no more "ok, I only have 2 mm left, and only 1 melf's acid arrow." It's just let rip until you want to switch spells!
After playing these games enough, I generally think I have a "feel" as to which spells are good. Then I just have my sorcerer pick those spells when he levels up... Plus I enjoy sorceres more than wizards on the RP level.
