Adding rogue levels is a very nice choice to boost a monk with sneak attack and using magic set.
BUT DON'T DO THAT IN IWD2 since the skill using magic set is not useful and the bab bug remains there. So what you can do is just to get the thouder clap to add one more attack number and keep playing with a sverely weakened monk or just export him hoping blackisle will provide you a new patch to fix that. And not like some other games, str is important for a good monk, so a half-orc monk is also considerable.( You like powergame's monks, don't you?)
