One person steps on the shadow to open the "secret" door in the left-hand wall. Once that's open, you can use the prism to shoot a bolt into the room, dispelling the shadow and opening the door. I've found it best to have just one person in the room when the shadow door is opened.
Sorcerers learn exactly the same spells as wizards do. They can't specialize in a school of magic. However, they can cast more spells per level than a wizard can. See the tables in the back of the manual.
