I had a tough time with him too until I made use of heal. It's what a healing spell should be, quick to cast, full restore. I had my cleric and druid memorize as many heals as they could. I used my druids best summon at the time and summon undead from my wizard. grouped them together, case circle of protection against evil, then summoned an elemental, I think it was an air elemental but I'm not sure if that really matters. Them buffed the part best I could, strenght of one, improved haste, holy power, barkskin, whater buffs I had, especially area effect that work on the summons too. I had a necromancer so enchantments weren't an option but emotion hope would of been nice too. I then put all my fighters close to my paladin to get the aura of courage and the summons on the other side to that when he appears I would have him surrounded. My wizard stayed back just in range of spells and used lower resist and then magic missle as much as possible. Ususally the summoned bears would panic but that just seemed to confuse the dragon and he couldn't seem to make up his mind over wich person to hit. my druid stayed behind the main group with the palidn and poked him with spear, and cast heal when I needed it. Once I started using heal he didn't seem so tough anymore.
