Aerich: Just to clear up what you posted: In 2nd Edition AD&D, you can in fact dual class ANY class, providing you're human and have the requisite stats and alignment.
In the Bioware games, you need to have a valid multiclass option to dualclass. It's just another bug of the game.
Also, the Complete Bards Handbook introduced multiclassed bards, and I had a lot of fun with a Ranger/Bard as well as a Bard/Cleric.
