You can keep both Edwin AND Minsc.
1) Leave Edwin temporarly somewhere in a town (make sure he does not wander away from the spot but stays and wait for you).
2) Go with Minsc and rescue Dynaheir.
3) When you come back to the town with both Minsc and Dynaheir in your party, speak with Edwin. He will discover that you already have met the 'witch'. After some arguing Dynaheir and Edwin will agree to stay in your party 'watching over eachother'
4) Go to some place you never want to visit again (Ex. a common house in a city or a tent at the carnival).
5) Select all party members but Dynaheir and leave the place (Dynaheir stays)
6) Now, when you are outside the house/tent and Dynaheir is inside the building/tent, rearrange your party to 'dump' Dynaheir.
7) Move on with Edwin and Minsc in your party. They will sound like grumpy old men (especially Edwin if your reputation is too high) but stay. I have heard that you should keep your reputation at 15 (appr.) and have a high charisma to be able to keep both in your party all the way through.
