I think I know where you are. Are you referring to the Garden area in Lower Dorn's, the one with the statue of Marketh, the svirfneblin gnome carvers, and the shriekers? (if not, just skip over the next bit of this post)
There are actually four doors. Left, right, straight ahead, and upper left-center. All of them lead you to areas where you can find bosses (the big guy's henchmen). I'd leave the center one to last, as you will have to return to it if you do it first. The left-center one leads to the easiest of the four.
