Here's a funny quirk/bug. The villagers in Kuldahar will provide Garnets(x-->) to Clerics and maybe to Paladins. If you talk to them over and over, they have three conversation strings about the Vale of Shadows.
1) Creatures - will talk about carrion crawlers
2) Mirek - will tell you about him and his trips to the Vale
3) Pilgrimages (the string you want) - ask about Kresselack, then about his priests (or his leadership)
The strings show up in a non-random pattern. If you keep talking to a "round" of three villagers, the same one will produce the gem. I stopped my experiment at 40 gems.
You can get as many gems as you want, then sell them all at the same time to Gerth. A stack of 20 is worth 2100 gp.
Of course, if the extra money is that important to you, it would be worth investing 5 minutes to enable the cheats [img]smile.gif[/img]
