I recently started playing BG2 for the first time, and I'm enjoying it more than I did IWD. That's not to say it's better, just different. IWD is very focused and linear. From a replay standpoint, you know you're going to be fighting, so what can you create to meet the challenge? There are many ways to reach the same goal.

BG2 has been refreshing for me, because it's more of a true role-playing game. When taking on a quest, you don't know if you're helping the good guys or the bad guys. Then you meet someone who tells you something completely different. Who to believe? When you're party is full, and you meet a new player, do you kick out someone out and let the new person in? And the quests- so many, and you don't know which ones will forward the ultimate plot. It's all so open ended.

Both great games. It sounds like Torment will have to go on the list as well.
