Quest items may be dropped anywhere and will not disappear. I do not think you need these items; but if you want to play it safe: Any item put in an empty chest in the Inn or in the Blacksmith's chest in Kuldahar (or any chest or shelf in Wyrm's Tooth or any other area, for that matter) will stick around forever.
