Hey, I think I have found out my problem. It might be my sound card. My husband was talking to someone about my problems and he said that it might be the sound card. We also have the game Morrowind and it is somewhat choppy. We are going to get another sound card in the next couple of weeks( until then I am going through withdrawls from not playing). Will let you know what happens then. By the way, I tried what NobleNick suggested and it didn't fix problem.
