Another option that completes the game, but lowers the thrill of victory, is to decrease the difficulty level. I didn't like doing that, but it was the only way I could complete the game will all characters left.

Another, better, option is to search prior posts for strategy tips on the final battle. There are some great tips on spell/tactic combinations.
