Hi, this is my first post. I have been reading many posts here since
I started playing IWD 2 weeks ago, and they are all very helpful. [img]smile.gif[/img]
1. I have Icewind dale, and I got the Heart of Winter from a friend.
When I installed HoW, about ¾ of the way through I got this error:
CRC Error: CD3\Data\eMOV1.bif cannot be copied.
It gave me the choice to retry, and the game continued to install.
Then at the end of the install, I got the same error, (above)
I selected to skip it this time. Is this file a Movie??
I looked in my directory and it is there and is the same size as
the one on the disc, 65.7 MB (68,943,642 bytes)
The Game seems to play fine, which brings me to my next question.
2. I downloaded Trials of the Luremaster and installed it.
How do I know it is installed? HoW install changed the title screen
and many other things. Plus came with an online manual.
ToL has no online manual that I can find. The only evedence I could
find of ToL is in the \Override directory. It changed after HoW and
again after ToL install. ToL also placed 2 text files in the "main" directory.
I use Win98 SE.
3. I started a new game for several reasons. I was at 2nd lvl of Dragon's Eye
I made a spare copy of that savegame in case I accidently save over it later on.
I started with the same chars, but with improved ability scores and weapon proficiencies.
Thanks to this board, [img]smile.gif[/img] I have much better starting chars. They are:
Fighter
Fighter
Fighter/Thief
Cleric
Fighter/Mage
Cleric/Mage
Back to my question, How do I tell, (In the game), that the ToL expansion is installed properly?
I DL it with my 56k
