You mention "deciding how often the weapon hits." How does the number of attacks factor into everything. I think I have a sword in my inventory that grants another attack per round. Is that another roll of the dice? If so, that seems to me to be much better than a +2 or even a +4 weapon, and maybe I should be using that more often.
