Yes, Xero you should install HOW now. It adds new items available in the town of Kulduhar. You will also particularly want it if you are playing the druid or bard classes. It will improve the interface too which you might not notice that much if you've only been playing for 20 minutes, but it will improve the shopkeep interface, allowing you to buy or sell multiple items at once.
As far as "what it does", it adds the above improvements, adds multiple new areas, raises the exp cap, and in general does what any good expansion should do. [img]smile.gif[/img]
Click on your mage(or any other character) and drag them to the point in the lineup that you want(just like BG). You can do this at any time except when you are interfacing with an npc. You definately don't want your mage up front at any time in the game, but particularly in the early parts. It is somewhat more challenging to keep your mage alive in IWD than in say BG2, as you are probably somewhere around 4-8 HP.
