I enjoyed it and I have played BG, and I am curently working on BGII. Here are some links to former post of a similar question without any spoliers.

I recommend trying to get it with the expansion as the expansion can be hard to get:

IWD2 is out as well but IWD you could probaly get alot cheeper. I will not be able to play IWD2 unless I get a new computer but you should be able to if you have NWN.
