Besides the woman in the Severed Hand, you'll have to wait almost
to the end for the gnomes. Make sure you remember the route through
the Severed Hand. I went back at least twice to restock and the first
time got lost a few times. You'll know what I mean once you get there.
Ammo management is one of the challenges in the middle of the game.
As far as bows goes, I don't recall being able to buy anything real great.
It might not hurt to take a short or long bow +1. The stats may not be as
good but you'll be able to hit some creatures (with +1 or better arrows too)
that you couldn't hit with a non-magical bow.
