This is the party I created, and their stats and levels at the end of Heart of Winter. (I played through Icewind Dale and Heart of Winter once, then I imported my party to a Heart of Winter only game. Then I played through TOL before I went to the Burial Isle. Then I put it on Heart of Fury mode for the rest of the game. This is why my party's levels are so high.)
Aurin Striate, Human, Paladin LV29 18/68 18 18 3 16 18
Axhind Orckiller, Dwarf, Fighter LV30 18/92 17 19 3 18 2
Kendal Oakenshield, Half Elf, Ran/Cle LV22/18 18/67 18 18 11 18 3
Ariel Wishsong, Half Elf, Bard LV30 16 18 16 18 6 15
Damson Lightfoot, Gnome, Ill/Thief LV18/24 18 18 16 19 12 3
Galrond Spellbinder, Elf, Mage LV26 17 19 16 18 8 8

Needless to say, this party rocks. I know that many people think that a six member party is overkill, but to me, half the fun of playing Icewind Dale is experiencing all the different classes and races. Most people who solo or play with two or three PC's do so to gain higher levels faster, but look at my partys' levels. It didn't take that long to accomplish. Again, it's really up to the person.
