Sharkannon, by all means get HOW. As Starvid noted it raises the level cap for character advancement, but it also adds much more to the game:

* better screen resolution
* new items and spells
* a free downloadable expansion - Trials of the Luremaster -- which is available once you have HOW intsalled.
