This is a very tough fight!
In addition to the standard protections that everyone will recommend using, I have found it best to move my party very quickly through the area to a more defensible location. Fighting near the entrance means getting swarmed from several directions at once. I have had much better success moving deeper into the cavern to a place with only one line of apprroach. This prevents all the harpies from reaching your party at once and allows you to focus your efforts against them. Just this simple change in strategy made a decisive difference for me in this fight.
