Yes you are in the right forum. The cap in IWD without the expansions is 1.8 million, but it's unlikely that you will reach that level without doing the old export/import trick, using an undersized party, hacking your characters, playing on a higher difficulty level or spending a LOT of time in monster spawning areas. Typical ending xp level for a party of 6 is more likely to be 1.2 million per character on normal difficulty.
