I use gamespy, its a program that allows you to play any of the games you just mentioned online. There should be a copy of it on the Baldurs Gate 2 cd1 just explore the CD and have a look.
PS - Tales of the sword coast isn't compatible with gamespy so if you have it make sure that its uninstalled if you decide to go with Gamespy
