Yaaargh, good to see this forum online again... I signed up with some /other/ IWD site to get a few emergency questions answered, and no one ever replied, nrk.

A nonemergency question: does gold have a purpose past Chapter 4 or so in Icewind Dale? I'm one of those... /thorough/ people who will travel back and forth between a town and a dungeon three or four times, just to transfer and sell all the loot I've amassed during the crawl. I'm now at around 100,000 gold pieces, and just dying to throw it all away making frivolous purchases... but where, where. No offense to Conlan, but his armour stinks and his special weapons are pretty useless to me, as all my characters are sword and bow users. Orrick has got some wands, but my hoarding instincts cover those, too- I want to save them for when 'I really need them', which means they remain unused until the final battle, and chances are that I forget to use them even then.

So, I'm at Dorn's Deep right now. Is it still worth it to make loot runs, or am I wasting my time and inventory space? ... though it'd be a wrench to leave all those long swords +1 just lying around to rust.
