Well, if he is gone for good, try either:
A) Loading an earlier savegame and trying to kill him again.
B) If you cannot defeat him again or you are too lazy to try again, locate an editor that will allow you to add his badge to your inventory, I suggest starting your search at the Ironworks Icewind Dale section.
