Collect all the gems and put them in the chest of seasons (i hope i have the name right). Note that before you put them in they will be marked as flawed gems. They will disappear. Go and collect all the gems again. They should, iirc, be on the altars. Note that now they are flawless gems. Go to the bridge and use the gems on the correct slots on the painted star.
