Stormhammer,
I actually installed the IWD patch after I installed HoW and the result was that the game would not work because the patch overwrites the
IDMain.exe file which is the executable that executes the program.
If you are having so many problems with IWD crashing have you thought about uninstalling it the reinstalling it. You might have some corrupted files.
Try what EDJockster suggested in another thread.
