The shaman is looking for some solid proof that the "risen king" is not what he seems. If you found the king's gravesite in the cave, in his coffin is his tribal insignia (which has been defaced). Take this item to the shaman - he will consider that to be enough for him to end his banishment and return to the camp in secret.
