Well, generally speaking, it is true that you do not need True Sight all the time, but then again, the same can be said for Lower Resistance, or Spell Trigger, or Animate Dead, etc...

The whole point of a solo Sorcerer's spell-list is that it must be well rounded, and able to adapt to any situation when necessary.

The reason why True Sight is necessary for soloing Sorcerers is that there are fights in which you need to dispel the target's invisibility before you can dispel its' protections, and waiting out is not always an option( especially if it is a Boss Fight).

You can use Chain Contingency to fire off a Breach and a Ruby Ray of Reversal on an invisible target, but it may not always work. An enemy minion may block it at the last moment, and besides, it seems kind of wasteful to blow a Lvl-9 spell on what a pre-casted Lvl-6 spell can do, and over a longer duration too.

True Sight also grants you battleground information. You do not need to worry about unexpected surprises when you have True Sight on.

Some spells on the Spell-List can be emulated by items, and the same goes for True Sight. However, items have a terribly long casting time, and usually when you need a True Sight, you need it pronto.

Cheers.
