monsters etc have natural resistance at maximum and can use it to heal themselves like you see in many films or star trek normally i think, "eat phaser blob thing, oh no its getting stronger and bigger now", players can duplicate it to an extent but i think its a bug that they can use it to heal themselves as players were never meant to be able to do that, 100 percent of anything doesnt happen in ad&d except in special circumstances (for the party) doesnt happen in any roleplaying games, 95 percent is normally the best attainable, there always has to be a chance to fail, thats why its a bug...
