I have already played through about half of Watchers Keep and I forgot how I managed to "perform the ritual" to get to the second level thru the gate in the big statue room- I have the book, bell and candle and went into the tomb room and gave the ghost his slippers and memorized the ritual, collected the scraps of paper that denote the order of what to do. The first time I placed the items on the altar, some statues came to life and I battled them-I had to conduct a tactical retreat because they were beating up a couple characters. Then I went back the next day(after rest) and replaced the items and nothing happened. I recall the first time I played this part, there was a dialogue prompting me to do things in the right order. But I can't get this to come up. I lit the stove in the west room and the ghost appeared, with little of use to say. What's wrong?!?
