no magic can affect a leaping barbarian so the ONLY way to tackle it (and yes i can leap a full screen with my barbarian so if your on screen i can hit you) is by timing it perfectly so that when i hit the ground the spell hits me, which is very hard to do using bg system, and if its the case whereby your immune to magic weapons then no problem i switch to fists and still do 200 odd damage
and of course you cant compare the two games, but its half the fun to see, ie would rambo kick terminators arse, would aliens beat the predator type questions, just if you integrated a barbarians leap attack into bg then it would not be targetable (by the rules of bg) till you touched the ground again by which time you'd be dead even if you converted the guy down to bg standards you'd have problems casting when your being hit repeatdly.
and diablo is a semi-rpg at best, its good fun and there is a plot to follow with quests so in that respect fills some, but baldurs gate by the same token is only a semi-rpg as you have no real option to change the course of things, theres no way of failing the main quest short of dying, the end result of bg is to complete the game so its not openended and therefore not a full rpg where you have the control (like morrowind which is about as close as most games come to open ended play) but diabloII is designed for hack and slash and dont think about anything which is great fun too cept gets boring quickly after completing nightmare, whereas bg you can come back to over and over, and yes even the multiplayer of diablo gets boring quickly and does little (for me) to extend the life of the game, the one thing in diablo i loved was random items, trying to build up the best set of equipment i could find, and thats the main reason most people play it, esp online.
but pls remember this aint a serious topic! its only games
