Regarding Dron Cah's earlier comment, and assuming they weren't being sarcastic, tieflings are part demon, part other race. If they tended to lean towards the demonic part of their heritage, it would make sense that they would join in the Blood War that dominates every demon's life. It would be a good way to gain popularity amongst the big boys.
