I hardly use Devas for their spells, they're far more useful as meat shields since they're just about the only thing that can buy me a round or two of uninterrupted spellcasting in really tough fights, and sometimes for doing some damage of their own.
Defeat Ascension... I haven't thought much about how I'm going to emerge victorious from that fight. Though I did notice something when browsing through IE, they all share a weakness to fire
