Not quite. Believe it or not, the game is still evolving. In the form of mods and new tactics. If you browse the forums frequently, you will see them rather often.

There's a thread out there now on which battle is the toughest. Come on. How many times has *that* been discussed?
A lot. By different people though. As "generations" of members come and go, so do the opinions held by them. What may have been relevant in the past, may not be relevant now. The difficulty of Kangaxx for instance. To well-versed veterans, Kangaxx pose no more fear to them than a hostile rabbit, but months ago when they were newbies, Kangaxx would have caused them much pain.

Would my comment have been relevant if I had started a whole new thread? Or would someone have replied, 'we talked about that a month ago, you can't talk about it anymore'. If that's the case, you should lock the whole board and make it an FAQ, since a large number of the posts on this board are questions anyway, many of which have been discussed to death and can be answered by doing a search (which is why I rarely ask questions on a board like this, and just do searches; it saves, like you said, on 'clutter').
No sane member will hold it against you for starting a new thread if the earlier thread was buried pages away. The only time making a new thread is considered a social boo-boo is when there is a similar topic on the main page (and to a lesser extent, page 2).

What difference does it make, anyway? The topic is still old regardless, and the content of the post is still new. The thread I 'resurrected' was the latest in a long line of threads on the exact same subject. You could argue that that thread fell under the definition of 'clutter' when it first appeared, as you said, only a month ago. Now I come along, have something new to add, but because the thread is old, suddenly you are classifying the new post as 'having no value', and being 'uncivil', and 'invalid'.
You put words into my mouth. I never said that your new post had no value. I stated that in general, wholesale necromancy is uncivil to the rest. Did I lock this thread? Did I delete your post? Nay, I said I would let it pass. Think of it as the Traffic Policeman who shrugs his shoulder, says "Meh", and decides that he has bigger fish to fry when he notices somebody exceeding the speed limit by 5 kmph.

That said, this is not an invitation to everybody to raise old threads; because this will just push off all the new threads (which is really, really unfair to them). Should that happen, it would force me to take more serious actions.

I rarely rant on a board like this, but a couple of responses here are a bit overblown, and have actually been more uncivil than the resurrection of this old thread. I won't respond anymore on this thread. After all, it will just keep it near the top, and that would be unfair to the new posts. I suggest you retire it.
It is up to you on when you want to post, but as I said. I already decided to let this incident slide. The ball is in your court now, not mine.
