Will you be playing with any kind of true grandmastery? If so, a berserker will be much better than a barbarian in the long run. The berserker can wear heavier armors, and still be able to wield ranged weapons (Azuredge, K'Logarath, Firetooth, Cheese-Impaler, etc.) as well as get the added bonuses of Grandmastery.
