Air Room and Chamber
Alright, when you first enter the level, go to the Fire Library where you will encounter two fire giants. Kill them and find an spirit imp that will ask and answer various questions. Afterwards, go into the Air Chamber and fight off two Greater and two lesser Air Elementals, beat them and then defeat the air guardian to the the air scepter. Watch out though, there are severe winds that will have the (nearly) same effect as wing buffet (dragon attack). After you get the air scepter, hook it into the circular panel in the middle of the room and set it to a higher setting.

Slime Room and Chamber
After you beat the Air Guardian, go to the Air Library and fight off the golems. After which you'll be able to open up the slime chamber (if you can't, go to the slime room and get the key to open it off a book shelf) and fight off the creatures inside. The slime tub in the center of the room will spawn slime so cast a lightning based spell to make it stop. Take the slime scepter from the snake guardian and open the second door of the chamber. If you set the air in the air chamber to a high setting, poisonous gas will filter into the next room.

Ice Room and Chamber
After you beat the snake guardian of the Slime Chamber, advance into the Slime Library (and defeat a large group of spiders) and open up the Ice Chamber, and the poisonous gas will now filter into the chamber and weaken the monsters and guardians. Defeat the ice golem and take his scepter and advance into the Fire Library.

Fire Room and Chamber
After the defeat of the Ice Golem, go to the Ice Library and defeat the undead specters. Advance into the Fire Chamber and wait for four fire elementals to spawn, then lead them into the Ice Chamber where they will be frozen instantly and be destroyed. If this is not done, the fire giant guardian remains invulnerable. After such, enter the fire chamber and kill the giant, taking his scepter.

Chromatic Demon
When you release the demon, naturally he will attack. In his regular form, use your weapons. His other favorite form is usually an Ice Golem that is weak against fire, but against his other elemental based forms I'm not too sure. (earth, air, so forth)
