The cowled wizards make up for some real good high level scrolls (ADHW, Imp. Mantle, Spell Trap), if you have tactics installed; the high level bandits you encounter also pack some nice scrolls IIRC (ToB included).
About the high level scrolls in Chateau Irenicus, I personally found Simulacrum (level 8 spell) there, imagine a goblin with such a scroll... probaly the assistant of Irenicus [img]graemlins/hehe.gif[/img]
