Well... a Fighter->Mage is powerful, but even more so if you choose to bite the bullet until your Fighter reaches level 13, then dual to a Mage.

Level 7 is considered okay too, but since you got ToB, might as well make it level 13. You will not lose out on your Mage class.

As such, consider playing a plain fighter until you reach BG2, then change to the Kensai kit. I believe you are allowed to re-select your weapon proficiencies as well. Dual-wielding Katanas are the usual choice, but Quarterstaves are a viable alternative( and it makes you unique too! [img]tongue.gif[/img] )

One rule about dualclassing is that while you are allowed to dual FROM a kit, you are not allowed to dual TO a kit.

The Wild Mage is a Mage kit, and as such, not a valid option to dual to. You can only dual to a General Mage. Kensai->Mages are the most powerful combination in the game.

PS: You get to keep your dualclass from BG1( if any), but it is better to dualclass in BG2.
